May

I officially graduated from New Mexico State University and have my degree in social work. I am happy to have achieved that accomplishments and my kids were able to be there for that. It makes me happy that my kids could see that all my hard work paid off. I have a few pictures from my graduation ceremony. They aren’t the best quality but they mean everything to me.

The most important people in my life came to celebrate with me.

Upon graduation, I officially moved out of Las Cruces, NM. I am now a resident of Chaparral, NM. I made the move with my kids and feel great to be close to my parents and siblings. I’ve had so many fun family days in the past week. It’s been great to reconnect with my family and to live closer than I have in the last couple of years. It’s been fun for the kids to see my nieces and nephew too.

I’m getting unpacked and settled in but have rarely had the time to sit down and do more than nap. As time passes, I’ll have time to sit down to write and get back to finishing up my projects. Right now, I’m enjoying my family and getting acclimated to my new home. I have a few goals that I’d like to share with you.

Summer Goals:

  • Start a family garden
  • Go on a camping retreat (in the plans)
  • Get a dog (in the process)
  • Finish my writing projects (3 WIPS)
  • Study for my licensing exam

These are the small goals outside of packing and such. These things are all I’m going to work on until I can establish my new situation. I’m now a single mom and will be registering the kids for summer school. I have so much to do and so much to work out, but I know things will fall into place wherever they will. I’ll update you on my progress next month. For now, enjoy the rest of May.

What are your summer goals?
